Yes, it’s been quite a while since I posted anything on the blog. Obviously, the last couple of years have been…weird…to say the least.
But I’m still here and still writing. My fifth novel, and the second book in the Undying Empire: Rebellion trilogy, The Traitor and the Thief, is now available in both Kindle ebook and paperback from Amazon.
This one took a long time to write. I actually wrote an entirely different Book 2, but realized it wasn’t the story that needed to be told. In fact, it was more like an interlude that took the characters in another directly entirely and got them mixed up with situations that had nothing to do with the greater story about the rebellion. Setting that book aside wasn’t easy, but I knew I had to find the right story for the middle book in the trilogy.
The one good thing that came out of it was that I will be able to salvage a good part of that original manuscript and turn it into a standalone story with different characters. So it was not a complete waste and it will eventually become part of the Tales of the Undying Empire series instead.
For now, I’m already a good way into writing the final book in the trilogy, The Revenant and the Reaper. I’m excited about this one, and I know exactly what needs to happen to bring the overall story to a close. So there won’t be another G.R.R. Martin-level delay for the next book.
(Though I do wish I had half as many people waiting for The Revenant and the Reaper as are waiting for Martin’s next volume.)
