As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved making up and telling stories. It was inevitable that I would encounter Dungeons & Dragons at some point, and so I dove into the roleplaying game hobby at the age of 11. It’s a hobby in which I’ve been active steadily for well over thirty years now, and one I still enjoy immensely.
Back in 2004, I put out a couple of projects for the Third Edition of Dungeons and Dragons (as did many, many other people). While the work was enjoyable, it was missing something for me. On the one hand, it was wonderful to hear from people that they had played my adventures and enjoyed them. However, I realized that writing open-ended adventures and sourcebooks was not what I really wanted to do.
I needed to keep telling stories.
Hence, this blog. My Tales of the Undying Empire series is a collection of standalone novels set in the same world, and my Undying Empire: Rebellion trilogy is a larger story in that setting. I intend to continue writing further novels set in the city of Ythis, and in other places in and around that dread empire. I also publish short stories on this blog for free, in multiple genres and settings.
So who am I?
I am a husband and father, and by day I work in corporate communications for the Canadian operations of a huge multinational corporation. I continue to play roleplaying games. I read avidly, most fantasy fiction, but also speculative fantasy and modern fiction. I love music of almost any type (with a few definite exceptions). And I’m a student of Gojo-Ryu Karate, along with my wife and son.
And one thing about me is certain: as long I am able, I will keep telling stories.
